Overview
A warm and welcoming family based in Dorado, Puerto Rico, is seeking an experienced and nurturing Night Nurse to provide overnight newborn care and support. The position begins in May or June 2026, and the family wishes to identify and secure the ideal candidate early to ensure a smooth transition ahead of the baby’s arrival.
The household is well-supported, with two full-time nannies already in place to provide daytime coverage and continuity of care. The Night Nurse will focus exclusively on overnight care, ensuring the infant’s comfort, safety, and steady routine throughout the night.
Key Responsibilities

Provide attentive overnight care for the infant, including feeding, burping, swaddling, diapering, and soothing as needed.

Establish and maintain healthy sleep patterns and feeding routines in collaboration with parents and the daytime childcare team.

Utilize and monitor the baby monitor at all times to ensure continuous supervision and safety.

Maintain a detailed overnight log noting feeding times, diaper changes, sleep durations, and any observations of note.

Prepare and sterilize bottles, organize the nursery, and manage baby laundry to maintain a calm, orderly environment.

Offer sleep training and developmental guidance, tailored to the family’s preferences and the infant’s progress.

Communicate clearly with the parents and nannies to ensure seamless handoffs between night and day shifts.

Remain observant of the baby’s health, promptly reporting any concerns or irregularities.
Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Night Nurse, Newborn Care Specialist, or Postpartum Nurse.

CPR and First Aid certification (infant-specific preferred).

Expertise in swaddling techniques, sleep training, and newborn safety protocols.

Experience working with baby monitors and digital tracking tools for feeds and sleep.

Professional, discreet, and compassionate with a calm and nurturing demeanor.

Ability to commit to a minimum three-month engagement in Puerto Rico.

Strong communication skills and stellar references from prior private family placements.
