Location: Atlanta, GA , 30307
Schedule: Monday 8a–8p, Tuesday–Friday 8a–2p, Saturday 8a–8p, Sunday 8a–2p (Rotational schedule might be considered between two CNAs)

Overview

A warm and compassionate daughter and her husband are seeking a dedicated and proactive Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to assist in the daily care of their beloved parents who are both experiencing mild cognitive decline. Both parents remain mobile, engaged, and capable of feeding themselves — they enjoy family time, watching the grandchildren play, going for drives, and visiting their favorite spots (especially Chick-fil-A).

The ideal CNA will have a long-term mindset, a kind and patient demeanor, and a genuine love for supporting seniors in a dignified, respectful, and joyful environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily companionship and gentle structure to both parents
  • Assist with morning routines: prepare breakfast, help Mrs. with dressing, and assist Mr. with shaving and light grooming
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks related to their personal spaces — making beds, tidying bedrooms, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and common areas
  • Prepare and serve meals (simple, home-style meals; dinner typically at 5 p.m. in front of the TV)
  • Support incontinence care with compassion and discretion
  • Encourage mobility and engagement through short outings, drives, or walks
  • Help coordinate and follow daily task lists or schedules provided by the family
  • Communicate observations and updates to the family promptly and professionally
  • Work collaboratively with the housekeeper who assists during afternoon hours

Qualifications

  • Current and valid CNA certification in the state of Georgia
  • This is a very active, non-sitting, position. Must be active, physically fit, confident using a gait belt and Hoyer lift, and able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must have a clear command of English. Mr. is of British origin.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience providing senior care, dementia support preferred
  • Warm, patient, and nurturing disposition with strong communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable following structured routines or task lists
  • Experience with incontinence care and assisting with personal hygiene needs
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for short local outings
  • Commitment to reliability, punctuality, and long-term consistency

Ideal Candidate Traits

  • Naturally proactive, not waiting to be told what needs doing
  • Brings a sense of calm, humor, and grace into the home
  • Understands the importance of preserving independence and dignity
  • Enjoys creating small, meaningful moments of joy throughout the day
